Application for Student Pilot Certificate via IACRA
Student registers with the FAA IACRA web site https://iacra.faa.gov/IACRA

On the IACRA site student requests a Student Pilot Certificate and is assigned a FTN number
•
Student needs to provide their instructor with copy of Drivers License and Passport or Birth
Certificate to prove US nationality

If student is not US citizen a TSA clearance is required - a simple process but takes a few weeks -
Atlanta Sport Flying is registered with TSA - see https://www.flightschoolcandidates.gov
•
Instructor retrieves the Student’s application via the FTN and fills in additional information and
submits the request
•
A temporary certificate will be available on the IACRA website within 7 days
•
The ‘Plastic’ Student Pilot certificate will be mailed to the Student - normally takes about 3 weeks
